The lady and a swan

In my reinterpretation of Ravi Verma's timeless masterpiece, I delved into the essence of his original work featuring Damayanti, the princess of Vidarbha Kingdom, talking with a divine swan, who tells her about Nala, the king of Nishada. Verma's creation, rooted in realism, captures the ethereal moment when the swan conveys the tales of Prince Nala, the illustrious king of Nishada, to Damayanti.

In my recreation, I embraced a bold and avant-garde approach, employing abstract shapes and a vibrant palette of colours to reimagine the scene. The painting pulsates with the energy of this moment, capturing Damayanti's sheer euphoria as she finds herself on cloud nine, swept away by the swan's divine revelations. Through my interpretation, I aimed to infuse new life into Verma's classic narrative, transcending time and tradition while celebrating the enduring power of artistic expression.
